Every Cents Count

The words every minutes count is over. In the current economic downtime, peoples are talking about every cents count. I have made known a friend who is practicing on every cents count, I can’t describe him is a stingy person but I can say he is smart and he is rich. I used to have lunch with him for couple of time, he would checking foods prices before ordering even for a small drinks. The worst thing is that sometime he asked for discounts on the few dollar foods.

He is kind of person not keen to spend anything on you but he will pay whatever is belonging to him, so we have to practicing on American style every time we met, is means pay for our own foods and drinks. Sometime I feel embarrassing when making payment in the counter. Boss said “semua Rm2.50", He would said “Saya punya teh tarik, Berapa?"

Actually I don't like to practice on this way but got to follow him. I have told him that if I meet you in the last 10 years, I might be a millionaire now. One thing good is that I can have a peace of mind when meeting him, even though I only have two dollars in my pocket, because not needs to fork out extra money.

I can be friend with all kinds of peoples, and always believed that can learn something new from difference peoples. Even just a beggar, we should respect them, because we don’t know that if one day we are become a beggar too. If there is a time, we need to learn from them. Do you think to be a beggar is easy job? Do you know what timing and locations is good to do begging?

Something to Share ......

I always like to share good thing to friends, hope that a little sharing will help. Firstly, just find a quiet place where you are alone and uninterrupted. Clear your mind of everything, don’t worry about your schedule, business, family and friends. Just focus on me with your open mind.

Imagine that now you are going to attend a funeral of a loved one, you are driving to the to the funeral chapel, parking your car and getting out. As you walk in to the chapel, you can see a lot flowers and the soft organ music. You see some faces of friends and family when you pass alone the way. All feel the sorrow of losing.

As you walk in to the front of the room and look inside the casket, suddenly you face to face with yourself, this is actually your funeral, five years from now, all these people come here is to attend your funeral. They all here is to express feeling of love and appreciation for your life.

You take a seat and look at the program list. There are to be four speakers. The first speaker is you family, immediate and also extended –children, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, grandparents who have come from all over the country. The second speaker is one of your friends, who can give a sense of what you were as a person. The third speaker is from you work or profession. And the forth speaker is from your church or some community organization where you have involved in service.

Now think deeply, what would you like all these speakers to say about you and your life? What kind of husband, wife, father or mother would you like their word to reflect? What kind of friend? What kind of working associate? What character would you like them to seen in you? What contributions and achievements would like them to remember? Look carefully at the people around you. what difference would you like to have make in their life?

Age After 35 Years.

Last week, I have received a long distance called from one of my good friend, he was checking on my age, I'm replied him and said "what's up", I'm 36 young man, anything I can help? He loudly said "you only have 19 years to go; I said “what 19 yrs? I intend to live until 80 yrs old, you say I have only 19 year to go, what the X man!!" He quickly and softly replied that "you misunderstood me; I mean you have another 19 years to go for your retirement age".

After walk through my mind, I'm agreed with him and said "ya, you are right, time goes very fast, another 19 years is my retirement age". He told me that he is worrying on the retirement time now, whether he can save enough money for his retirement age; if only depend on the EPF saving, how long the money can be last. Although he has a comfortable life now, but the problem is he got no saving at this time.

At the same day, another friend of mine called me, He said "hi Jochua, how are you? Long time didn’t chat with you, how's life?" As normal I replied him with “Oh, fantastic! I'm enjoying good life here, so far so good and how about you? He said " still survive, business is getting slow, I don't think my business can sustain for long, I intend to invest in others kind of business, anyway I going to Europe trip next month, hope to meet you after that. I said “sure, keep in touch and enjoy your trip".

In another two day, I met up with another good friend. In the conversation, she was asking me one question, she said " if we departure from this world one day, either go to heaven or hell, do you think we still can enjoy as current? Is mean like foods, clothes, friends and so on. I totally stunned on that time, I told her that I haven’t think on that stage yet, I only think on my current life.

As As we can see, when age getting older, the thinking and perception will change automatically, Good luck.

Cutting Cost

Today everyone talking about cutting cost, from an individual to a family and a company. Even the federal and state governments forced to carry out the cutting cost exercises. This is happening due to the rising fuel and energy prices or another way to say is now recession time. I was thinking is that the only way we can do(cut cost) or we should have others alternative solutions to overcome this hard time.

I'm staying in Petaling Jaya, as I can see and feel that lesser peoples in the restaurants and lesser cars in the roads now comparing with previous time. My company is in Puchong, I have to traveling everyday from PJ to Puchong using the Subang airport road, surprising since the fuel increase the massive jam is getting better. For sure peoples now want to cut cost, they find better economic way to work for example car pooling, taking bus or LRT. Rapid KL report shown that sharp increase in passengers for its Light Rail Transit(LRT) and bus services since the increase in oil prices. Bus service increase was 7.5% while the increase in LRT passengers was 3.9%.

My most seated memories of eating in the foods stall near to my house after fuel rising, I'm ordered a normal Bak Kui teh and the price list shown that Rm8 for one person eating, that time because I'm quite hungry so I decided added another bowl of rice, when the guy delivered the foods and he asked for RM10 from me, is mean that another bowl of rice is cost me Rm2. My god, other peoples only charged RM0.80 to RM 1.00 per bowl but he charged for double. I'm not quarrel with him because the amounts is not big but do you think that i will visit there again. As a consumers we do understand that increase price due to cost increase, but too much increase is unfair to us, No wonder I have some friends who already changed their living pattern after fuel rising, all cook by they own. Even some of my office girls are cooking lunch in the office, it ready can save some money for other's necessary thing.

On weekends, I used to go out to a shopping mall to enjoy the "free Air-cond", like peoples said window shopping, but all that has stopped as well because somehow or another I would end up buying something unnecessary during such visit. In order to cut cost, I have stop go to the malls even the launch of Malaysia Mega Sale last week. In current world economic crisis, we should use our own hard earned money wisely because our future is unpredictable.

Tips on Filling your Vehicles...

ONLY BUY OR FILL UP YOUR CAR OR BIKKIE IN THE
EARLY MORNING WHEN THE GROUND TEMPERATURE IS
STILL COLD. Remember that all service stations have their
storage tanks buried below ground. The colder the ground,
the denser the fuel, when it gets warmer petrol expands, so
buying in the afternoon or in the evening.... your litre is not
exactly a litre.

In the petroleum business, the specific gravity and the
temperature of the petrol, diesel and jet fuel, ethanol and
other petroleum products play an important role. A
1degree rise in temperature is a big deal for this business.
But the service stations do not have temperature
compensation at the pumps.

WHEN YOU'RE FILLING UP, DO NOT SQUEEZE THE
TRIGGER OF THE NOZZLE TO A FAST MODE. If you look,
you will see that the trigger has three (3) stages: low,
middle, and high. In slow mode, you should be pumping on
low speed, thereby minimizing the vapours that are
created, while you are pumping. All hoses at the pump
have a vapour return. If you are pumping on the fast rate,
some of the liquid that goes to your tank becomes vapour.
Those vapours are being sucked up and back into the
underground storage tank so you're getting less worth for
your money.

ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT TIPS IS TO FILL UP
WHEN YOUR TANK IS HALF FULL. The reason for this is,
the more fuel you have in your tank, the less air occupying
its empty space. Petrol evaporates faster than you can
imagine. Petroleum storage tanks have an internal floating
roof. This roof serves as zero clearance between the petrol
and the atmosphere, so it minimizes the evaporation.

ANOTHER REMINDER, IF THERE IS A FUEL TRUCK
PUMPING INTO THE STORAGE TANKS, WHEN YOU STOP
TO BUY, DO NOT FILL UP - most likely the petrol/diesel is
being stirred up as the fuel is being delivered, and you
might pick up some of the dirt that normally settles on the
bottom.

Hope, this will help you get the maximum value for your
money.

Who's Problem?

This question always come out from my big boss mouth, when you try to explained some difficulties with him pertaining customers issues, the words who's problem is expected from his mouth. He is the kind of person never listen to your explanation, excuses and sweet talks even the tsunami, earthquake and cyclone is happen on him. But when you think deeply on it, this reaction actually is from his positive minded attitude. He's right, who's problem if you cannot achieved what he is expected from you? THINK ABOUT IT ..............................
